MI 6C rumored to be launched by next month with Surge S2
Several leaks and rumors suggest that Xiaomi may launch Mi 6C in December. The Mi 6C is rumored to be powered by companies own Surge S2 SoC.
According to other leaks and rumor the company is also preparing for the Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus and Redmi Note 5 launch.
Coming to the Mi 6, the device may sports a 5.65-inches full-screen display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device supposed to be feature glass chassis and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In terms of camera, it may come with dual camera setup at the rear with the configuration given as a 12MP Sony IMX386 main CMOS sensor and a 5MP depth of field secondary shooter.
The upcoming device is rumored to come in two storage versions- the first one with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM and the second one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM.
The Mi 6C is supposed to be powered by Surge S2 SoC. The Surge S2 is in massive production, according to the leaks.
The upcoming Surge S2 chipset will be an octa-core processor configured as four Cortex-A73 and four Cortex-A53 cores in an octa-core arrangement.
The large cores are capable of running at a clock frequency of 2.2GHz while the small cores have a maximum clock frequency of 1.8GHz.
The Surge S2 is said to be manufactured with the 16nmTSMC process and it also supposed to house Mali G71MP8 GPU and supports UFS 2.1 flash memory and LPDDR4 RAM.
The 4GB+64GB version may price at CNY 1999(~$299) and the 6GB+129GB version may price at CNY 2499(~$370).
